Designed to introduce your dog to agility equipment with safety and fun in mind,the focus of this class is to build confidence on the obstacles and establish recognition of the contact zones. Requirements: Must have taken the beginner course with Einstein's K9 or have basic obedience commands, such as sit, down, stay and control of your dog off leash. However, class will usually continue in light rain. STAR PUPPY - Beginner Obedience (For puppies under 1 year) Tuesday, July 27th @6:00 PM Saturday, July 17th @12:00 PM Six 1 hr sessions - $110 **You must attend All classes to receive the "Star Puppy certificate** This class is excellent for young puppies that need to practice socializing with people & dogs. Learn to walk on a leash, no jumping!, no biting!, and other behavior issues. You will learn how to introduce your puppy to adults and children, as well as strange objects. Pre-Canine Good Citizen skills taught as well as sit, stay & come. Lessons taught using positive reinforcement. OBEDIENCE - Beginner Basic (For dogs over the age of 1 year) Friday, July 16th @ 6:30 pm Saturday, July 17th @ 10:30 am Four 1 hr sessions - $85 Basic obedience commands such as: sit, stay, attention, heel, come, introduction to down & socialization skills. Behavioral issues & manners are all taught with positive reinforcement. Striving on building confidence and building the human/canine bond. Requirements: Proof of rabies and all up to date vaccinations. **Save $10 when you Pre-pay for both Obedience Basic Beginner & Beginner Advanced levels. $160 for 8 week course (Obedience Beginner and Advanced) when paid by first Basic Beginner session OBEDIENCE - Beyond Basic (Basic Beginner Continued) Tuesday, July 20th @ 7:30 pm Saturday, July 17th @9.00 am Four 1 hr sessions - $85 If you've already taken star Puppy, this is your next class. Also a good idea to take as a refresher if you've taken this course in the past. Teaches heeling/walking on the leash, down-stay, stand, stand-stay, touch, target touching, returning to heel, and back. Requiremnts: Must have taken Obedience Basic Beginner, or Star Puppy. Obedience Pre-Novice (Continuation of Beginner Advanced) Thursday, August 12th @ 6:30 pm Five 1 hr sessions for $95. If your dog has just completed Beginner Obedience Advanced, continue your dogs education with this class. Your dog will learn skills to prepare for agility, rally or CGC/TDI. Reinforced obedience skills with added distractions. Requirements: Beginner Advanced Obedience - Novice Thursday, August 12th @ 7:30 pm Five 1 hr sessions. $95 Begin your off-lead heeling and continue your obedience skills with more precise attention, heeling, recalls, fronts and finishes, etc. We'll also focus on distractions, timing & other basic training fundamentals.
Hollywood Stars I (Trick training class) Wednesday, September 1st @ 6:30 pm Four 1 hr sessions - $85 Have fun teaching your dog tricks that will impress family & friends. Requirements: Beginner Obedience skills K9 Trilogy (Obedience, Pre-Agility, Tricks) Monday, June 28th @ 7:30 pm Five 1 hr sessions - $95 This class combines 3 aspects of the canine training experience: Reinforcing obedience skills, a variety of confidence building exercises, and some doggie body strengthening tp prepare them for agility equipment. Its the next great step after Star Puppy or Beginner Obedience! Taught indoors. Requirements: Must have taken Star Puppy or Beginner Obedience. Rally Wednesday, August 4th @ 6:00pm (for dogs older than 10 months) Four 1 hr sessions - $85 This class is limited to 6 students. Rally obedience is for fun or for competition. Follow signs that give you directions using obedience skillls. This is a great transition while you're working towards your CD title or keeping your dog sharp in open competition. This sport is also great for the show dog. Introducing obedience but not having to worry about automatic sits. It also compliments teaching the Therapy Dog having to maneuver around tight corners. Taught by Warren Gibson.Requirements: Basic Obedience skills. Conformation (Breed Handling) Wednesday, July 21st, 28th, August 4th, 11th @ 7:30 pm 1 hr session Drop-In fee $10, no attendance requirements Conformation measures dogs based on how well they conform to their specific breed standard. This includes their physical appearence, the way they move and and their temperament. Prepare your dog for the show ring whether being shown with the owner or a professional handler. Practice ring procedures, stacking, free baiting, gaiting, and other fundamentals. Have the judge take notice and give your dog the special edge it deserves. This class will also benefit any dog that needs improvement with social behaviors with people.
Lifestyle Obedience (Canine Good Citizen Skills) Friday, September 10th @ 7:30 pm Five 1 hr sessions - $95 This class will reinforce your obedience commands from the beginner or pre-novice class. Working on manners and coming when called. This class will help you prepare for the Canine Good Citizen test. For more information about CGC go to akc.org. Skills also taught for Therapy dogs.
Therapy Prep Class Friday, August 20th @ 6:30 PM $25 for one 2 - 3 hour session, (depending on class size) A Therapy Dog is a dog that provides emotional support to all sizes and ages of people(Not physical support). We evaluate and work on skills that are required for your dog to pass a Therapy test. We also help you understand what is expected of you and your dog when you're visiting a facility.
